quilt camp

Thank you for registering for The Borderline Quilters Quilt Camp 2008 being held at Wadham’s Hall, Ogdensburg during September 19, 20 and 21, 2008.

Unfortunately there is an error on the registration form stating that the Weekend Package includes 2 nights lodging, meals and 9 hours of classroom instruction. This should state 1 night of lodging. The cost to stay an additional night (lodging and 3 meals) would be $56.50.

We sincerely apologize for this situation. Mistakes happen and we are now trying to repair the damage. If you would like to withdraw your registration, we understand and will return your check immediately.

Please get back to me by mail, phone or email so we can resolve this situation.

Yours truly,

Linda Barney

The Weekender Tote

This is a quilted tote, (approximate finished size is 16"x12"x5") which is fully lined, and has large pockets on the inside. It has a rigid bottom and straps that fit over the shoulder. It is a suitable project for any ability level, and with some pre-class preparation should be well on its way by the conclusion of the class.

Seasonal or holiday prints work best for this pattern (For example, 1 each of Easter, Christmas, 4th of July, Thanksgiving. or fabrics depicting spring, summer, fall and winter.) Four Patch Posey

Slide11.GIF

This stack and whack quilt is one that beginner to expert quilters all seem to enjoy. After making this quilt, people often comment that it is fun, addicting, and they never look at fabric the same way again. By the end of camp, you should have a completed lap quilt to take home.

Faceted Jewels

Slide11.GIF

The "Faceted Jewels" quilt is designed by Susan Dyer & Nancy Raschka-Reeves from Minnesota. Pattern makes a queen size quilt 80" x 104". Do you have lots of ½ yards of fabric you bought and then didn’t use? By this time you have forgotten what you were going to make with most of them. This is an excellent way to use 18 of those assorted medium-dark to dark prints, plus 12 different backgrounds or 5 ½ yards of background. When you get this top sewn together it looks like a scrappy quilt.

Dancing Leaves

Slide11.GIF

Twenty–one leaves dance down your fabric from the sky to a pile at the bottom.

This is another of Bethany Reynolds "Stack and Whack" projects. Those of you at "show and tell" last year’s quilt camp saw Mardee Cooke’s version. It is from the book "3 Quilter’s do the 4 Seasons" by Bethany, Joan Shay and Karen Combs. It is a fun way to learn the technique with a very different look. Those that have done other stack and whacks will enjoy doing another and everyone should do at least one. Each leaf will look different and you can do the sky scrappy or all one fabric. You also get to do some appliqué (the stems) selecting from several methods.

Level: Confident beginner, who does good ¼"seams.

almost a sampler

Slide11.GIF
A “real” sampler contains more variety, but this quilt does combine three traditional blocks arranged to create a truly wonderful pattern.  You will make Ohio Star, Courthouse Steps and Square-in-a-Square blocks to make your quilt top, which measures 72” x 96” when completed (large twin/regular full size).  You can make it scrappy just by color placement or use pre-planned fabric choices.
Level: Well established beginners to advanced quilters.
